SMOKY SAVORY WAFFLE
For one waffle, add:
- 2 Tbs. assorted shaved or shredded Italian cheeses (such as Romano, Asiago, Parmesan)
- 1 Tbs. chopped fresh basil
- 2 Tbs. pine nuts
- 1 Tbs. chopped fresh chives
- 1 tsp. chopped fresh jalapeno
- salt and pepper to taste
- smoke or chipotle seasoning to taste (or chipotle peppers)
- topping suggestion: aioli (mayonnaise, chopped basil, and lemon juice or apple cider vinegar)
* vegan cheese and vegenaise can be substituted for cheese and mayonnaise
* with so many additions, this will most likely make more than one Belgian-sized waffle
